In-Fiber vs. In-line Polarizer: The in-fiber techniques involve manipulating the fiber core/cladding such that the polarizing mechanism occurs in the glass core/cladding region itself. The in-line technique involves a small fiber to free space region where a discrete polarizer is employed to perform the polarization after which the polarized light is coupled back into the fiber core.
This project's purpose is to explore methods of in-fiber polarization.
